Litinger Endowment
Greenblatt Family $100,000 Challenge Grant!

With great "P.R.I.D.E." and gratitude, we share with you that the ECLC of New Jersey P.R.I.D.E. Endowment has received a matching gift challenge grant of $100,000 from the Judy and Billy Greenblatt Family Charitable Trust! From now through December 20, the Greenblatts will match every dollar raised for the P.R.I.D.E. Endowment up to $100,000.

The Greenblatt family have long been supporters of ECLC. Judy Greenblatt has served on the ECLC Board of Trustees for 10 years. She and her son, Brandon, co-founded P.A.I.R.S., a program in which Millburn High School students volunteer to spend time doing recreational activities and building friendships with their peers with developmental disabilities who attend our ECLC school in Chatham. All three of the Greenblatt children, Maggie, Brandon and Jake, participated in P.A.I.R.S., during their high school years. With this challenge grant, the Greenblatts continue to demonstrate their devotion to ECLC and helping children and adults with disabilities!

The Greenblatt's challenge grant will solely benefit the P.R.I.D.E. Endowment to help us reach our goal of $2 million by December 2019. The GREAT news is we need only $200,000 to reach the $2 million dollar goal.

P.R.I.D.E. is making a profound impact on the lives of 170 adults with severe developmental disabilities. Renee and I established the endowment to ensure that P.R.I.D.E. remains a high quality program for years to come. I made a promise to raise $2 million for the endowment before I retire. After 22 years serving as the Executive Director of ECLC of New Jersey, I have decided to join Renee in retirement in December 2019. My final goal is to fulfill my promise to our P.R.I.D.E. families.

Please join Renee and me in donating to this match. If we raise $100,000 by December, with the Greenblatt's challenge grant, we will reach our $2 million goal! When we reach $2 million, we will begin to use the income generated from the endowment to support P.R.I.D.E.'s growing needs. So, in essence, your gift to the endowment will be the gift that keeps on giving.

I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful support you have shown me during my time at ECLC of New Jersey. Your continued support at this time will mean so very much to me personally, and, most importantly, it will have a long lasting impact on our P.R.I.D.E. program and the very special clients and families we serve.

Warm Regards,

Bruce and Renee Litinger

Why Are We Raising Money for P.R.I.D.E.?

Our P.R.I.D.E. Program is kicking off its 10th anniversary year!
Our P.R.I.D.E. Program is kicking off its 10th anniversary year!

The Litinger Family Endowment will help to:

  • Supplement day-to-day operating costs
  • Start new centers when current centers reach capacity
  • Purchase equipment, such as vans, computers and more
  • Allow for the program to run all year long
  • Provide emergency funding for compassionate reasons related to client and family aging issues

While government funding is going down, interest in P.R.I.D.E. program continues to go up. Already, P.R.I.D.E. has expanded into two locations—Bergen and Morris—serving more than 170 clients between the full-time day and part-time evening programs. This year, more students will graduate and enroll in P.R.I.D.E. We are facing a serious challenge to keep up with the demand.

Please join our campaign to ensure ECLC graduates have the option of the P.R.I.D.E. program and all its benefits and supports for many years to come!

Please help us secure the future of our wonderful P.R.I.D.E. program by helping us raise $2 million for the newly established Renee and Bruce Litinger Family Endowment Fund in honor of our longtime executive director, Bruce Litinger.

This campaign will not impact funding for our schools or Community Personnel Services (CPS)! Our schools are primarily funded by the students' local sending districts and will continue to receive supplemental moneys as needed through the ECLC Foundation.
