Helene’s Thrifts & Gifts is Open for Shopping!
Calling all thrifty treasurer hunters! If you’re seeking great finds, then Helene’s Thrifts & Gifts, at 16 Waverly Place, Madison, is your source.
Our new store carries a wide variety of adult and children’s gently used clothing, shoes, and handbags, plus housewares, decorative pieces, and unique, quirky items, like a Hogswarts School backpack or vintage, Snoopy collectibles.
Helene’s opened its doors to customers on May 28, and the cash register hasn’t stopped ringing up sales!
Our nonprofit shop is the dream of namesake Helene Jaffe, a longtime ECLC Trustee. Years ago, she proposed launching a store to create jobs and training for adults with special needs to work alongside their typical peers. The goal is for the store to remain self-sustaining through sales and to provide long-term employment opportunities and community engagement.
