  • Substitute Teachers— Both schools are also hiring substitute teachers with a County Substitute Certificate or a New Jersey teaching certificate.

Transition Employment Specialist

ECLC affiliate, Community Personnel Services, Inc. (CPS), is a nonprofit agency providing services to students and adult clients for more than 25 years. CPS provides transition services to students from private and public schools in Morris, Essex and Bergen counties. Transition Employment specialists combine their experience, knowledge, training and advocacy to help individuals and families create person-centered, viable transition/employment plans. Transition Employment specialists assist individuals in reinforcing skills, teaching new skills and developing a resume, conducting successful job interviews and completing applications. They work side-by-side with the individual at their job site to ensure their tasks are manageable and that they are successful employees.

Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must have the ability to multitask and adhere to transition timelines in order to provide comprehensive transition outcomes for each student. This includes but is not limited to attending IEP’s; assisting with post-graduation funding; accessing community resources, transportation, vocational or habilitation program opportunities.
  • Must have the ability to work with students and clients to locate competitive employment opportunities based on their preferences, skills and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills are needed to interact effectively with clients, families and community providers.
  • Travel required in Bergen, Essex, Union and Sussex counties. CPS provides company-shared cars, but employees must use their own reliable vehicle, if a car is not available (mileage is reimbursed).
  • A good driving record, proof of automobile insurance and auto registration are required.
  • Candidates must pass CPS background checks, including State CARI check.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in vocational, social services, social work, psychology, special education or a related field. Associate degree is considered with experience in these fields.
  • Minimum of one year documented experience working with individuals with disabilities. Benefits include:

Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Morris PRIDE (Florham Park/Chatham)

The Medical Assistant is a key member of the healthcare team responsible for providing essential administrative and clinical support to healthcare professionals in the organization. This role ensures smooth clinic operations, assists with patient care, and maintains accurate healthcare records.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Participant Care: Assist in the provision of healthcare services to participants, including administering medications, checking vitals when necessary, performing basic first aid, etc. Support participants in activities of daily living, promoting their independence and well-being.

2. Participant Advocacy: Advocate for the healthcare needs and preferences of participants, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of care and support. Collaborate with families and guardians to address participant healthcare concerns and ensure a person-centered approach to care.

3. Health Education: Provide participants with health education and instructions on medications, treatment plans, and self-care. Ensure participants understand and actively participate in their own healthcare management.

4. Collaborative Care: Work closely with the program nurse and management team to coordinate care, address individual participant needs, and provide comprehensive healthcare services. Maintain effective communication within the program nurse and management team.

5. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, providing first aid and facilitating emergency medical services when required. Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols and equipment.

6. Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications to participants according to schedules, dosage instructions, and physician orders. Monitor and document medication administration, side effects, and participant responses.

    • Experience providing nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative

Support Coordinator

Community Personnel Services Inc. (CPS) is a nonprofit agency providing services to students/clients for over 25 years.  CPS began providing support coordination services in Essex, Union and Somerset Counties since its inception in the State in 2013.  CPS Support Coordinators combine their experience, knowledge, advocacy, and sincerity helping individuals and families create a Person Centered service plan.  This individual service plan is self-directed by the client/family linking them to services within the community to support their skills, talents and interests.  All support coordinators with CPS are assigned manageable caseloads in order to provide the highest quality services to their clients.  CPS support coordinators are loaned laptops and company cellphones as needed.

Successful candidates must have the ability to multitask and adhere to a timeline in order to complete State required documentation for each individual on their caseload.   Support coordinators must be able to communicate effectively with clients, families and community providers. The educational requirements for support coordinators include a Bachelor’s degree in social services, social work, psychology, special education or related field.  The candidate must have at least 1 year documented experience working with individuals with disabilities.  DDD requires all support coordinators to successfully complete two full days of State training prior to working as a support coordinator.

Payroll Accountant

The Business Office is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to manage the payroll processing system and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages to employees. This is a full-time, year-round position available immediately (pending Criminal History Clearance Requirements) with a competitive salary and generous benefits. The benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 403(b) retirement account. This position is in-person role located at the Business Office in Chatham. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process the company’s payroll, semi-monthly accurately and on time.
  • Prepare general Payroll Journal Entries.
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Assist in annual budget and audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding payroll and tax reporting.
  • Process employee wage garnishments, liens and child support orders.
  • Develop, maintain and update payroll policies and procedures as required.
  • Conduct monthly and year-end payroll reconciliations with accounting system.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues with staff and administration.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to ensure accurate employee data and timely processing of new hires, terminations and employee changes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest payroll updates, features and changes with the system.
  • Provide support and training to other team members and employees as needed.

Requirements:

  • College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Proficiency in any payroll processing software.
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and New Jersey state Department of Education Approved Private Schools for Students with Disabilities rules.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise (or comparable accounting system).

Experience using any/all of the following software systems is a plus:

  • Paylocity (or comparable automated Payroll system that incorporates Time & Labor).
  • PandaDoc (or comparable paperless Purchase Order review/approval system).
